Welcome to NYRR Group Training, with sessions for runners in Manhattan, Brooklyn, Queens, and the Bronx.
Geared toward runners of all levels, from newcomers to experienced competitive racers, these workouts offer coaching, camaraderie, and the inspiration that comes from running with others. Whether your goal is to become a runner, to run your first race, or to set a personal best, you’ll find a welcoming atmosphere that encourages you to pursue your goals and have fun.
NYRR Group Training will help you get stronger and faster with your choice of five different weekly sessions:
Runners are divided into compatible groups based on their experience, including results in recent New York Road Runners races when applicable. In a mutually supportive and inspiring environment, you’ll meet like-minded runners and new training partners. (No more loneliness of the long-distance runner!)
Every NYRR Group Training workout begins with a warm-up (including running technique work) and ends with a strength-and-flexibility component.

Special Sessions
Beginner Group
This separate section, with its own coaches and workouts, welcomes people who want to improve their overall fitness and have yet to run a non-stop mile. The eight-week session will introduce members to the world of running, with the goal of having them complete a 5K run (3.1 miles) by the end of the session. Initial workouts will include walking and easy jogging, preceded by a warm-up and followed by a stretching and strengthening component. No experience is required, and lots of encouragement is offered.
Weekend Long Run Group
Running a fall marathon? Get a head start on your training with our weekend long runs, held on Saturdays at 8:00 a.m. The session will focus on base mileage for marathon training and be coached to accommodate those who run up to an 11:30/mile pace. Workouts will be held throughout the five boroughs; locations TBA. Please note: bag check will not be offered for these workouts.
Extended Tempo Group
This program will not be offered for this session.

NYRR Group Training is coming home to Van Cortlandt Park, where NYRR held some of its first running events more than 60 years ago. Live or work in Upper Manhattan or the Bronx? Hit the trails with us Wednesday mornings!
New Session Time: Mashup Wednesdays, 9:30 a.m.
Join us at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesdays for NYRR Group Training in Central Park. If your day typically starts a little later, or you need the early morning hours to drop off your kids at school, this later session time could be the perfect option for you!
We're Back on the East Side
This session we're bringing speed workouts back to our popular East River Track location. See Winged-Foot Wednesdays in the schedule below.

Fees
One workout per week:
NYRR members—$80 ($10/workout based on 8-week session)
Non-members—$100 ($12.50/workout based on 8-week session)
Two workouts per week (Tuesday and Thursday):
NYRR members—$150 ($9.38/workout based on 8-week session)
Non-members—$180 ($11.25/workout based on 8-week session)
