Due to the severe weather forecast, all NYRR RUNCENTER events, NYRR Group Training sessions, and NYRR Striders sessions scheduled for Wednesday, March 21, have been cancelled.
As part of our mission to help and inspire people through running, we want to get every person active, not just the kids. To this end, Rising New York Road Runners would like to offer each of our qualifying sites two guaranteed, non-complimentary entries to the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon. Entries are available to claim December 8, 2017.
How did my site qualify to receive 2018 TCS New York City Marathon guaranteed, non-complimentary entries?
To qualify, your site logged 10 sessions in STRIDES by December 1, 2017.
How many entries do we get?
Each qualifying site may claim up to two guaranteed, non-complimentary entries for the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon.
Who can use the entries?
The guaranteed, non-complimentary entries may be used only by site staff (individuals who are employed at your site) or program staff (including those who volunteer with your program).
We have other community members who want to run the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon but are not eligible for these entries. How can they register?
Runners who wish to participate in the marathon, but are not eligible for guaranteed entry as part of this initiative can enter the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon drawing, which is open January 15 through February 15, 2018, or participate as part of a charity team such as NYRR Team For Kids, whose participants receive expert training, group runs, and VIP perks while fundraising to support NYRR youth programs.
What does “guaranteed, non-complimentary” mean?
This means that you are guaranteed a spot in the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon—you don’t have to apply via the drawing--and that you must pay the entry fee in order to complete your registration.
You are also responsible for paying for any other expenses incurred as a result of your participation in the marathon (e.g., travel and lodging).
How do we claim our entries?
Entries will be available online December 8, 2017 and must be submitted by February 2, 2018. Click here to view the application.
After we submit the runners’ entries, can we make changes?
Once you have submitted your runners’ names and received confirmation from us, no changes are permitted.
What important deadlines should I be aware of?
• Your runners’ names (including email address and date of birth) must be submitted to NYRR by February 2, 2018.
• Runners will receive their registration codes via email by mid-March, 2018.
Can we use our entries to raise money for our program?
Although you cannot sell or auction your entries, your runners can solicit donations in support of their efforts through a site such as CrowdRise.
How do I register for the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon?
You will receive an invitation via email with a unique code that will allow you to register. You must have a My NYRR profile in order to register; you may create this profile for free at My NYRR. You must use the same email address that was submitted to claim your guaranteed entry. After you have created your profile and logged in, you will need to enter your unique code in order to register for the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon.
What important dates and deadlines should I be aware of?
• You will receive your registration codes via email by mid-March, 2018.
• You must register for the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon through My NYRR by July 31, 2018; you must also select your baggage and transportation options by this deadline.
I got my registration code, but now I’ve decided not to run. Can I transfer the code to someone else?
No. Registration codes are uniquely generated for each runner, and the name, birth date, and email address attached to the code must match the My NYRR profile of the registrant.
I got my registration code and I’m signed up for the 2018 TCS New York City Marathon, but now I have more questions. Whom should I contact?
You can find answers to most marathon-related questions on our website, Help Center, or My NYRR. If your question isn’t answered there, you can email [email protected].
How do I train for a marathon?
We recommend the NYRR Virtual Training program, which is tailored to fit your schedule and ability level.
